The Good News
The Good News
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life. John 3:16
I used to watch the news on TV. I stopped watching it because the images were so disturbing. So now I catch the news on the internet; that way I can easily pick and choose which news items I can focus on and read about in more detail.
I was recently checking the news on the internet, however, and came across some particularly disturbing headlines. I was going to share them with you, but decided they were too disturbing; I’ll just say there were eleven local and national headlines that were particularly intense.
Sometimes I just have to ask: What is going on in this world?
There is so much evil, sadness, and sickness. Sometimes I just wish Jesus would hurry up, come back, and take us all home!!!
Unfortunately though, we can’t “rush” Jesus’ return. There are some things we can do though:- We can pray for the world!!! The world can use all the prayers it can get!!! We are told in Scriptures that:
The prayer of a good person has a powerful effect. James 5:16
- Pray that God will lead you and show you how you can help the world. Remember, we are the body of Christ in this world and we are all “ministers”!!! God works through each of us to help others!!!
Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But strive for the greater gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way. 1 Corinthians 12:27-31
- And last, but certainly not least, we can remember the Good News and share it with others:

This Good News tells us that God loves us, gives us hope, and promises that if we believe in Jesus we will have eternal life. That really is Good News!!!
I shared this devotional with a friend, Marcelo, to get his feedback. These were his comments; I wanted to share them with you also:
“The world is full of bad AND good things. The problem is that people will buy and read only the bad things.
I think the solution is to fight the bad things with the good things. In other words, we need to publicize the good as much and as often as the media does the bad.
Good fights evil.”
So keep the faith!!! Keep praying!!! And remember that the Good News always outweighs the bad news!!! And that God is still in control!!!

Thank You for Your many blessings!!! Please help our world, and please work through us to help our world, to share the Good News, and to help others find You!!! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
