Say "Yes" To God

26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, 27 to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." 29 But she was much perplexed by his words and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. 30 The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his ancestor David. 33 He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end." 34 Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" 35 The angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God. 36 And now, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month for her who was said to be barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God." 38 Then Mary said, "Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word." Then the angel departed from her. Luke 1: 26-38

All throughout the Bible there are examples of men and women who took a step of faith and said “yes” to God.  The Scripture above tells us about Mary.  She really had no idea what she was getting into and how her life would be changed!!!  She just had faith that God was leading her and would always be with her, no matter what happened.

When we take a step of faith and say “yes” to God, we are changed, our lives are changed, and others are changed.  I personally have taken many steps of faith, especially in the last several years.  I have grown and learned from all of these experiences and have not regretted any of them.

We all need to be aware of when God is leading us to do something.  God speaks to us all the time; we just have to learn how to listen better!!!  God can speak to you through prayer, the Bible, and the guidance and counsel of others, especially Christians.

A couple of years ago a co-worker sent me an email that read, “If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.”  I think of that often; it reminds me that God is always with me.  He is with you too!!!

So the next time you feel God may be leading you to do something, pray, read the Bible, and talk to other Christians about it.  If you still feel that it is from God, take a step of faith and say “yes” to God.

God will bless you and change your life, if you just have the faith to say “yes” to Him.  Just like Mary did!!!

Dear God,

Thank You for Your many blessings!!!  Help me to always have the faith to say “yes” to You!!!  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen
